Join us for a historical art project to support the women of Iran. The IWIN organization, an organization created to support women of Iran, has begun to create a massive quilt in order to gain awareness about the loss of liberty the women in Iran are currently facing. Ra Yoga would like you to join as we learn about the Iranian conflict, meditate, and create art for change in the world. We will each be creating a 12 inch by 12 inch quilt square. Art direction, support, and supplies will be given. This is an event for the non-artist and artist alike. Your donations will go to help support the IWIN organization. This massive quilt will be displayed on International Women’s day.
About your instructor:
In 2003 Jessica took her first yoga class in college. That teacher introduced her to several different styles of yoga and meditation. She moved abroad and began to practice Bikram and Ashtanga yoga. Six years later she moved back to the states and chose to change careers in order to teach yoga.
Jessica spent her first year as a teacher teaching senior citizens as old as 93. She went on to teach yoga and meditation at drug and alcohol rehab centers. She began teaching prenatal yoga during her first pregnancy.
In her time as a teacher she has worked with a variety of students and communities including studio yogis, rock climbers, senior citizens, babies, pregnant individuals, children, people in recovery, and Olympic athletes. She has taught in three different countries and two different languages. She continues to develop herself as a teacher in order to serve her community.
