Becoming Budokon: Animal Locomotion

A primal movement study on the evolution of life through locomotion patterns.

This workshop will take place at Ra University (18242 W McDurmott A, Irvine, CA 92614).

ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME!

Animal locomotion matters because humans evolved from quadrupeds. Changing the number of limbs used for locomotion can therefore result in a change in anatomy and may help people with spinal irregularities, movement disabilities and can recalibrate the physical architecture.

Integrated movement balances the relationship between the pelvic girdle and the shoulder girdle, creating new neurological pathways and thereby improving the relationship between the right and the left brain.

The focus here is mobility and strength, as many of these patterns require weight distribution into the upper trunk at varying ranges of movement. This is a unique and interesting way to experience the human body, and connect with our evolutionary ancestry.
