The journey of yoga started for me at age 22 with a pretty intense physical practice. I enjoyed pushing my limits physically, but what I realized was it wasn’t so much pushing me physically as it was pushing me mentally. I have always had a hard time focusing on anything. This reflected in school, relationships and especially life. I had no passion or drive until I began the practice of yoga. Yoga became my vice and it started to shift the way that I was living. I knew very early on that I wanted to share this with every single person on the planet. I guess I can be pretty ambitious when my mind is able to focus, eh???
So 2 years and many styles of yoga later, I signed up for teacher training. I finished 6 months of traveling, flew from Vietnam to Maui and started the path of becoming “teacher lady”. I have always taken a lot of inspiration from the teachers that I take class from so I also attribute a lot of what I know to them. I am so grateful for all the teachers that took time to speak with me and make me feel noticed comfortably as the real, true me.
My teaching style allows you to cultivate inner holistic strength. I don’t like to tell people what to do so I always offer variations and keep a mindset that today is unlike any other day so we treat it as a new adventure. I like to remind my students that even though we can do something’s and “can’t” do other things, there is no need to be attached. The more we let go of expectations and allow the present moment to reveal itself, we will find our practice has so much more to offer than just poses. It actually gives you power that you can reclaim to change anything you want. Sometimes all we have to do is change our mind. This can be one of the hardest “poses” for us to overcome, so please join me for class and lets see if we can do this together, as one Namaste.

Favorite Yoga Move:

viparita dandasana (inverted staff pose) Uttitah Trikonasana (extended triangle pose) and Bakasana (crow pose) but there are literally too many for me 2 name.

How Has Yoga Benefited You The Most:

Yoga has given me a purpose for my life and an outlet that never brought me negative results. It is something that I always count on to balance me.

Reason Started Doing Yoga:

I started yoga-ing because after a 2 month trip to Europe some little voice inside of me said “start doing yoga”. It was something that I could not ignore and I am so thankful that I listened to my inner self.
