Ali is a passionate advocate for increased awareness and understanding around mental health. His predominant interest lies in yoga’s ability to improve our well-being as well as the profound benefits it can bring to our mental health. As a perpetual student of this ancient Indian system, Ali is fascinated by how many aspects of the yoga sutras are reflected in contemporary psychology. He firmly believes that a true yoga practice is infinitely deeper than physical postures alone, advocating Desikachar’s philosophy that “The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.”
Ali teaches group classes throughout Orange County, as well as working on an individual basis, creating customized practices for his students’ specific goals with a particular focus on stress, insomnia and anxiety.
