Andrea was born and raised in Newport Beach and has traveled the world giving her perspective for a deep, rich, and authentic life. Coming from an athletic background, Andrea likes to run and has a passion for dance. Her introduction to yoga was life changing. Learning to slow down energetically has helped her let go of the “push hard to get results” mentality and to trust and listen to the body.
Favorite Yoga Move:
Supta Baddha Konasana, butterfly pose on your back, with two blocks. One block in between the shoulder blades, one block supporting your head. This heart opening, restorative pose, expands the front of your body as well as releases and opens the hips. Allowing for deep deep breaths, it also has a back bend element to it which helps serotonin levels rise to relieve low energy levels.
How Has Yoga Benefited You The Most:
The benefits of yoga are numerous. The philosophy behind it has challenged me to take a deeper look at life and become a stronger person spiritually and emotionally. The physical practice has given me more strength than any workout I’ve done and in turn has organically made me crave organic healthy foods which enrich the body and keep it young.
Reason Started Doing Yoga:
I thought I would try something new. Add something “stretchy” to my running, kickboxing and dancing. Little did I know it would give me a leaner, stronger body and become my main choice of workout.
