Cristina Martinez
Cristina is an ex-athlete and has always strived to be mindful of her physical health and proper nutrition. Her yoga journey began over 9 years ago as a power vinyasa student. The healthy, physical yoga lifestyle has and continues to be in perfect alignment with what her mind, body and soul crave. She has a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and a 17 year career in apparel design. However, her deep passion for yoga completely took over when, out of curiosity, she enrolled in yoga teacher training. After the first lecture she knew she was destined to teach yoga. She was completely unaware of what she wanted at the time but knew in her heart she was craving change. Cristina now teaches yoga full time and has been blessed with opportunities to freelance design from her home. She is inspired by music and loves creating melodic playlists that students can connect with. She is forever grateful for the gift and art of yoga as it has made her a better parent, partner, daughter and friend.

Favorite Yoga Move:

Side Crow (Parsva Bakasana); It makes me feel strong. I absolutely love guiding students through it and seeing the excitement when they accomplish it.

How Has Yoga Benefited You The Most:

Yoga is my therapy, my church, and my physical outlet. Getting the opportunity to teach and spread my knowledge of yoga has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.

Reason Started Doing Yoga:

The first time I tried yoga was over 15 years ago. I thought one had to be flexible to really get the full benefits of yoga. (Little did I know!) It was not love at first try! 6 years later a neighbor mentioned a Groupon deal to a local hot yoga studio. After 1 month of going consistently, I fell in love with it, specifically vinyasa flow and yoga sculpt/strength. I love the physical intensity of the practice. It has strengthened my mind, body, and soul.

5 Words That Describe Your Teaching Style:
