Coming from a very competitive background consisting of playing basketball/volleyball all four years in high school. 12 years later, Huy is still playing both sports in competitive leagues. One thing he loves about yoga is that he finally found an activity that he can just leave his competitive mind behind and just enjoy the journey. There is no competition in yoga. With yoga you pretty much just compete with yourself. Finding importance in self-care and just trying to better yourself in all aspects of your life on the daily. Despite being athletic most his life, his love with food has made his fitness journey a roller coaster. Being 200lbs at his heaviest he managed to cut down almost 50lbs. Outside of his main work, he is inspired to help, motivate, and guide individuals towards their brighter path. The path of self-care. He would love to share everything he learned inside of the studio as well as outside.
Favorite Yoga Move:
Savasana because it’s the time to let everything you just did with your body sink in physically and mentally. You’re like an artist and you have an hour to make a masterpiece. You’ve spent the last 50 minutes gathering your thoughts, 10 mins to go and now it’s time to put that paint on the canvas. Your savasana brings color to your vinyasa.
How Has Yoga Benefited You The Most:
Besides slowly healing all my past injuries from all my active lifestyle activities, yoga definitely helped me to just breathe. Just breathe through everything life has to offer/throw at you. Before, I practiced yoga to get better at yoga. Now, I practice yoga to get better at living.
Reason Started Doing Yoga:
I started doing yoga because I was looking for another way to get in a good sweat. I soon realized yoga was extremely more than just a good sweat.
