Jackie began her journey as a teacher when she completed training in Ashtanga yoga in 2009, and Hot Style yoga in 2010. She continued her yoga education by completing the Balance Yoga Teacher Training Program at KC Fitness Link, a 200 hour teacher training certification, and is currently working on her 500 hour certification. An avid learner, Jackie’s educational background currently includes bachelor degrees in Finance, African History, and a master’s degree in Health Administration.
Jackie’s personal practices include the Ashtanga yoga, Hot style yoga, Restorative, and Aerial/Hammock yoga. She truly lives her practice. Every day she finds a balance with in her personal practice, teaching yoga, as well as working a full time position at Optum. It is important to Jackie to spread the wonderful joys and the benefits of yoga to her community, because as Jackie says “the benefits from yoga for the mind and body are endless.”
Jackie also believes strongly in this quote “Practice and All Is Coming” by K. Pattabhi Jois. In this quote Jackie extracts that “nothing is perfect, we all need the patience to grow and achieve the things we desire. We build strength, breath, focus, and balance all in time; in the end bringing the mind and body true happiness.”

How Has Yoga Benefited You The Most: 

Yoga keeps me grounded, focused, and determined to reach my goals! It helps me realize that the world is beautiful no matter what our troubles are.

Reason Started Doing Yoga: 

I attribute my practice to my mother, who always taught me to go for things I love to do and that there is nothing I can’t do if I try hard enough. Thanks mom! I got into yoga needing a life change, and I was extremely drawn to many yoga styles; it helped me tackle the various aspects of life.
