Favorite Yoga Move:
I’ve got a close relationship with Tadasana, Mountain Pose. I find this richly active (yet refreshing and resetting), yet as easily taken for granted as savasana. Of all the postures, it is when I arrive here that my breath most immediately arrives in the space I’ve forgotten I have the capacity for.
How Has Yoga Benefited You The Most:
Yoga has acquainted me with balance, unconditional love, community, and safety (the energies I would have traveled all the seas and highways to find… only to realize they’ve been Here and Ready all along).
Reason Started Doing Yoga:
Like every Best Thing in my life, yoga came organically and completely by accident – in 2015 I misread a schedule and arrived for a vinyasa class instead of a sculpt class. Attending despite my deep-set apprehension of such “slow” fitness, every one of the seconds in the studio was terrifyingly confronting and simultaneously soft; I was unravelling a knotted Self I’d buried deep down who swam readily to the surface of such a safe place. The feeling of being physically, emotionally, and spiritually expressed in such totality was revolutionary for someone who for so long found those three elements so difficult to weave together, and when the right 200HR teacher training arrived, I met the calling to study and share yoga as completely and responsibly as it arrived to me. The discipline of their union—and it’s inherent freedom— is, to me, healing poetry in motion.
