E-RYT 500 | 72 Hours Continued Education
Marisha is an E-RYT 500 hour certified instructor and has been teaching Yoga for a living since 2015. She has also completed additional trainings in Yin Yoga, Yoga with Weights, Yogalates, Heated Flow, and Healthy Dieting. In addition she has studied under some of the great Yoga Masters in Bangalore, India where she grew up. She believes that Yoga is not just a “work-out,” it’s a “work-in” and that Intentions are a huge part of the Yoga practice. She incorporates epic playlists, fun themes, essential oils, hands on adjustments, dance like movement, and instruments in to her classes. She is known for her singing at the end of class!
Favorite Yoga Move:
My favorite Yoga pose is Skandasna/Double block variation - God of War pose. There is so much power, mindfulness and strength in this posture. It makes me feel empowered like a superhero, like I am capable of anything! I’m also a huge Star Wars and it reminds me of the strong warrior stance of a Jedi Knight.
How Has Yoga Benefited You The Most:
It’s hard to choose one specific area as Yoga has transformed my entire life. If I had to choose one I would say that, the mental, therapeutic, and cathartic affects have been extremely healing and transformative in my life.
Reason Started Doing Yoga:
I originally went to yoga because a friend of mine invited me to join her for a free week at a studio. I fell in love instantly! Being split between worlds - half Indian and having spent nine years of my life in India, and half Caucasian/American I’ve often struggled to truly fit in anywhere. However, in the yoga classroom all of my worlds collide. I’m home.
