I grew up in Alaska, Washington, South Africa and England. I moved to California to swim for Golden West College and UC Berkeley. After college, I swam professionally and trained for the 2008 and briefly for the 2012 Olympics, I didn’t make it and chose to retire to pursue my greatest adventure yet; motherhood. I now live in Long Beach with my Firefighter husband and two kids. I have had a love for movement my entire life, and I have always been drawn to yoga for the physical challenge and spiritual journey.

How Has Yoga Benefited You The Most: 

I’m always up for a physical challenge or a workout, but by far the most beneficial aspect for me has been studying yoga philosophy and learning how to incorporate positive changes into my life. The idea of taking tiny steps forward without expectation of the final destination has really resonated with me, and is something I try to remind myself of daily.

Reason Started Doing Yoga: 

My first yoga practice was with my mom in our living room…and Ali McGraw on a VHS! I started my yoga practice for the workout, but stuck around for the inspired moments of silence.
