Pantea began her yoga practice as a way to de-stress while she was getting her bachelor's at UCLA. Her practice inspired her to write a thesis on the effects of yoga on creativity - a study the UCLA theater department put to use as a part of their repertory rehearsal process. She practiced off and on for the next several years, until she found Ra Yoga - when she moved to Orange County to get her MBA at UC Irvine. She was inspired to take the teacher training course at Ra Yoga in the same way many of us have our greatest idea - by reading a sign in the bathroom stall. Pantea believes yoga allows us to live in a limitless world - where thoughts and preconceptions of our bodies and capabilities can be laid to rest - and our minds can start fresh. Her style is focused on open-heartedness and compassion for self and community; from this place we are able to grow whichever way we choose.
Favorite Yoga Move:
Svasana. I genuinely believe the goal of yoga isn't about touching our toes or standing on our hands. But about the stillness we find at the end of our physical practice. I can't think of a better way to thank my body, soften my thoughts, and open my heart than svasana.
How Has Yoga Benefited You The Most:
Yoga heals my body, calms my mind, and inspires me to work daily towards a better version of myself than the day before.
Reason Started Doing Yoga:
Honestly, my aunt made me do it. The reason I kept on coming back? Because my aunt was right.
5 Words That Describe Your Teaching Style:
