I grew up in the Orange County area and have raised my 2 adult children here. Most of my extended family still lives in the area. In 2004 I completed a 90 minute hot series training, and shortly after, a 200-hour certification. I am managing a workable balance between my yoga and bookkeeping careers.
Favorite Yoga Move:
Trikonasana. At the moment the proper alignment, muscle engagement and breathing all came together, I felt as if I could hold the posture for hours.
How Has Yoga Benefited You The Most:
I know it sounds like a cliche but I greatly value the daily reminder of balance that yoga brings to my life. In challenging situations, I instinctively take a moment and just breath. It's amazing what clarity we can achieve with the aid of a simple breath.
Reason Started Doing Yoga:
I discovered yoga in 2004 while on a break from my normal running routine. I always enjoyed getting outdoors and running on the beach, though over time, it wore on my body. On a whim, a friend and I took a yoga class. I won't say that I instantly fell in love, but by my third date with the practice I was hooked. The balance, flexibility and strength that I've found in my yoga practice has been life changing.
