Isla Cheadle:
Isla Cheadle is a music and dance artist, record label owner, event producer, voguer, and Ballroom House leader with over 20 years in entertainment. She has toured internationally with her husband as Purple Crush. After discovering the LA Ballroom scene through the underground drag community, Isla founded Banjee Ball in 2013, which has since become a cornerstone of the West Coast Ballroom community. A former member of the House of Chanel and former leader in the House of Ebony, she was deemed “Legend” for Women’s Vogue in 2022 and currently holds the title of West Coast Mother of the Haus of Schiaparelli.
She appeared as “Mother Ebony” on Season 1 of Legendary (HBO Max) and later served as Music Director for Seasons 2 and 3 with Purple Crush. Now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Banjee Ball produces events, presentations, and educational workshops that cultivate and share Ballroom culture while supporting the physical and mental well-being of its participants.

Through individualized empowerment they identify applicable holistic health practices in & beyond conventionality. Since 2012 they’ve held accreditation in and continue to study hatha yoga, hot yoga, trauma-informed yoga, group fitness training, personal training, Usui Reiki, crisis intervention and linguistics.
