FAQs
What are the benefits of yoga & heated yoga?
Yoga helps calm the mind, build strength, increase flexibility, and improve overall wellness. Heated yoga enhances these benefits by warming the muscles for safer stretching, promoting cardiovascular health, detoxifying the body through sweat, and supporting weight loss. Plus, it’s a powerful tool for stress relief and mental clarity.
How often should I practice?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer—your practice is personal. Come as often as your body, mind, and schedule allow. We encourage new students to explore regularly at first to build momentum, but even one class a week makes a difference. Every time you show up matters.
What if I can’t do a pose?
No worries! You don’t need to nail every pose to get the benefits. Our teachers offer variations so you can move in a way that works for your body. With patience and consistent practice, you’ll be surprised by how your strength and confidence grow.
Do I need to be flexible to take class/do yoga?
Not at all. Flexibility is a result of yoga, not a requirement. Yoga is for every body, and your ability to connect with your breath and listen to your body is far more important than touching your toes.
What kind of classes do you have?
If you’re new to yoga, we know the class names can sound confusing—but don’t worry, we’ve got you. Ra Yoga offers a wide mix of classes for all levels, including slower-paced options to help you get started and build confidence. Whether you’re looking to stretch, sweat, or simply slow down, there’s a class that fits.
To make things easier, when you view our class schedule here on the website, you can filter classes by ‘beginner’ and see only the classes that would be perfect for you. We’ve created a simple Classes Cheat Sheet to help you find the right starting point. It breaks down each class by style, pace, and heat level so you can step in with clarity.
What sets Ra apart from other studios?
We’re not a chain—we’re a community. Each Ra studio is thoughtfully designed with reclaimed materials and filled with local spirit. Our wide range of class styles and welcoming vibe make Ra a place where all yogis—beginners to advanced—feel supported and seen.
What is radiant heat & why is it better than convection heat?
Radiant heat warms the body directly instead of blowing hot air. It’s similar to the sun heating your skin—it feels natural, consistent, and comfortable. Unlike convection heat, it doesn’t stir up allergens or create uneven temperatures. It’s healthier, eco-friendly, and way more enjoyable for your practice.
Which classes are not heated?
If you prefer a non-heated environment, try Ra Vinyasa Level 1, YinRastore, Sacred Sound, Meditation, Sound Bath & Kundalini Meditation, or Prenatal. We also offer gently heated options like Intro to Ra Vinyasa Level 2 for those easing into the heat.
How do I sign up for class?
Easy! First-timers can take advantage of our intro offer: two weeks of unlimited yoga for just $35. Once you get going, we encourage you to download the app for the easiest class booking experience.
