When does the next 200hr Teacher Training start?
We offer our 200hr Teacher Training program twice per year, starting the first Saturday of January and the first Saturday of August. Each session is 12 weeks long.
Can I complete the training online?
Our 200hr Teacher Training program is entirely in-person. We meet at our dedicated training facility, Ra University, located at 18242 W McDurmott Suite A, Irvine, CA 92614.
Is Ra’s training Yoga Alliance Certified?
Yes, we are certified by Yoga Alliance, the one global governing body of yoga schools. You can see what is covered in our curriculum on this page, in accordance with the Yoga Alliance requirements. There will be some assigned reading for homework and a requirement to continue practicing yoga outside of teacher training hours.
What is the difference between 200 hour and 300 hour teacher training?
200hr Teacher Training is a great starting point for anyone interested in deepening their personal practice of yoga and to start developing their teaching skills. This course will prepare you to creatively sequence and confidently guide a 60 minute vinyasa style class.
300hr Teacher Training is the next step and provides a more in-depth exploration of yoga philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology. This program builds on the knowledge and skills gained in the 200hr program.
If you complete both 200hr & 300hr trainings, you’ll be considered a 500hr certified yoga teacher.
How long are the courses?
200hr Teacher Training is offered over a 12 week period.
300hr Teacher Training is self-paced. Most students complete this program in about 2 years.
