Yoga Nidra : Reset and Renew

Join us for a rejuvenating hour-long Yoga Nidra session designed to guide you into a deep state of relaxation and mindfulness. This ancient practice, often referred to as “yogic sleep,” invites you to access the space between wakefulness and sleep, allowing for profound rest and healing.

The class begin with a few journal prompts to  prepare for stillness with intention. You will then be led through a series of guided visualizations and body scans, encouraging you to release tension and cultivate awareness of each part of your body. As you lie comfortably on your mat, the soothing guidance will help you enter a state of deep relaxation, where mental chatter quiets and your subconscious can awaken creativity and insight.

No prior yoga experience is required, and the class is suitable for all levels. Bring a yoga mat, a blanket, and any props you may need to feel comfortable as you embark on this journey into relaxation and inner peace. Embrace the bliss of Yoga Nidra, and emerge feeling refreshed, balanced, and deeply centered.

My hope is that these questions help transition the mind of the students to be more present and intentional throughout the nidra.

The Nidra will follow the traditional sequence.

Once we work through the journal prompts.

The students will have a chance to use bolsters and pillows to create a comfortable lying posture. I will guide them through sensory withdrawal, invite them to recall their Sankalpa (referring back to the last journal prompt question). Rotation of consciousness, Nirodaha, pairing of opposites, rapid visualizations, a short guided visualization and return back to waking consciousness.

If we have time allotted, I would love to offer space for people to reflect on their journals or even share their experience.

Teacher Bio:

Leo Goodmanson is a trauma-informed, queer, Yoga Nidra, Breathwork and Meditation facilitator, Ashtanga & Yin yoga teacher, and hands-on Somatic Bodyworker. Leo’s classes focus on connection between body, mind, & community. Leo’s extensive training began in 2017, with months spent in Bali studying yoga, a couple years later an isolated Yin and Pranayama intensive in the jungle valley, and now over 400 hours of Yoga Teacher Training. He has since attended National Holistic Institute massage school, worked at StretchLab as a flexologist, and built his own business, Inhale Indigo Healing, providing private sessions offering all of these modalities on a personal basis. Navigating personal mental health experiences has led him to develop a unique, inclusive and empathetic teaching style – combining breath work, intentional movement, postures, guided meditations, and sound to foster deep relaxation and surrender. Encouraging exploration at the edge of discomfort, Leo provides a safe space for students to get curious about their sensations, express themselves fully, and embrace self-compassion.
